Beyond simply being avid outdoor enthusiasts, the folks at Black Diamond are committed to keeping the environment in as pristine condition as possible. The created a closed loop anodization process that reuses and recycles over 2000 tons of wastewater. They recycle all of their scrap metal and cardboard both here in the US and at their manufacturing facility in China. When they have to buy cardboard, it is 35% recycled content, which saves at least 370 trees from being cut down.
Their facilities are powered in part by wind and solar power and they have further decreased their power consumption by purchasing higher efficiency HVAC units. Everything Black Diamond does seems to have the environment in mind.
