The F/R qualities of the fabric are inherent and cannot be washed out. Layer 1 is the first flame resistant garment to incorporate proprietary phase change technology. All Kenyon F/R Shield garments are flat seamed for comfort and feature a relaxed fit. Layer 1 passes all military specifications for NoDrip/No Melt-ASTM-D-6413 and also features Silver + antimicrobial which protects the wearer from a broad range of fungi and odor causing bacteria. Kenyon FR Shield has a very high TPP (Thermal Protective Performance) while maintaining the highest ratings for THL for moving extra heat away from the body. The results are that the Kenyon FR Shield garments are extremely comfortable, even when used in a multi-layered clothing system.
